I Need Your Help!

No one will argue the fact that St. Bernard receives no local coverage on the night of elections, especially when there is a highly contested state or city race. The last primary election proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

There is really no reason why we cannot provide some type of coverage on the local government access channel. I've been trying for the past month to convince my Councilman to let me provide that coverage.

His initial response when I presented it to him was positive, but as time wore on, he stopped returning my phone calls and eventually gave me a half-hearted answer that he would see if some type of ticker could be run across the bottom of the screen.

There's no reason we should have to settle for this. I've placed a phone call to our current Parish President Charlie Ponstein, who is reportedly out of town, but I need your help. The more people calling and complaining, the more Mr. Ponstein and the Council will be convinced to see this through.

Please take a minute to call the Government Complex at 278-4227, ask for Mr. Ponstein's office, and leave a note with his secretary. You can also call and complain to your councilman also, just don't expect much out of District C.

Be good to yourself,
Westley Annis
