Blogging is a new "feature" of the internet. It allows an easier way to update web pages and gives a "log" type setup with some automatic features. This is the second Blog I've created, the first can be seen here.

 

Murphy Oil Refinery Follow Up

I haven't been able to get all of the details, but the short story is no real harm done.

Apparently they were testing a pipeline when the chemical being used for testing caught on fire. Emergency units were called to the scene and the fire was extinquished.

First call alerts were placed to residents within 1/2 mile of the refinery explaining that there was no need to evacuate.

At 9:15 PM all units at the refinery were back online in full operational order.

Murphy Oil Refinery Blast

According to the Sheriff's Office, an explosion has been reported at the Murphy Oil Refinery in Meraux. Fire Department and Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene. Explosion happened sometime between 4:30 and 5:00 pm.

More information as it becomes available.
